Enhancing Historic Preservation in Teton County, Wyoming
Who We Are
Teton County Historic Preservation Board (TCHPB) is a Teton County advisory board. Historic Preservation Board members are volunteers appointed by the Teton County Board of Commissioners. In addition to its work with Teton County, the TCHPB is also contracted with the Town of Jackson. The TCHPB provides the Town of Jackson with substantiated historic preservation recommendations for the Jackson Historic Preservation Program, including the review of Jackson, Wyoming demolition permit applications.
This board does not fundraise or give grants. The primary purpose of the TCHPB is to support Teton County’s status as a Certified Local Government. This status makes our community eligible for historic preservation funding from the Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office.
About the Certifed Local Government Program: Each year, the Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office is required to transfer a minimum of 10% of Wyoming’s annual allocation of Federal Historic Preservation Funds to cities and towns found eligible through the Certified Local Governments (CLG) program. Teton County Government is certified through this program. Today there are over 1,000 active CLG’s in the United States working to enhance local preservation efforts nationwide.
