If you are a property owner and your plans for your property include demolition of a structure or structures, you must apply for and receive a demolition permit. Once submitted, your demolition permit application is sent to the Teton County Historic Planning Board (TCHPB) for review. If the structure(s) you intend to demolish are found to be historically significant, the TCHPB will recommend a 90 day stay of demolition to the Town of Jackson. The Jackson Planning and Building Departments and/or the Jackson Town Council have the final authority to accept the TCHPB recommendation, or not.
You are encouraged to contact the TCHPB early in your planning process. The TCHPB meetings are public and you are welcome at all meetings, including a meeting when your demo permit is reviewed.
